Hi, welcome to the start of a new site, what is here is what was left after the site went down! Plans are to change the site a bit, including mp3's pages, info etc. Old visitors will be familiar with the layout and content, but in the meantime just be patient with the way it is,broken links etc :) This site is mostly aimed at beginners and people new to djembe drumming. There is a new Learn the djembe CD on the way, stay tuned. Djembe playing and drumming as a whole has grown world-wide, and it is undoubtedly one of the fastest growing areas of hand- percussion. As a result there are a lot of teachers available, mainly in the U.S and Europe. Not too many african teachers in Ireland but there are some great people around the country to learn from. The whole area of drum circles and drumming to relieve stress and other ailments is getting more and more publicity, it is finally being recognised thanks to people like Barry Bittman Arthur Hull, Mickey Hart, Baba Olatunji to name a few, look at my page on Rhythm Healing or check out an interesting Article about Cancer and drumming here
